UPLA (Uttar Pradesh Library Association)

The general election of the Uttar Pradesh Library Association (UPLA) is going to be held in May 2013. The Election Officer of UPLA has told that the President and Secretary will be elected by the votes of the life members and other officials will be elected through the nomination process.

This is a good news for the Uttar Pradesh Library Professionals for rejuvenating the cause.

Library Physical Verification (Stock Verification)

The physical verification of the Libraries may only be done in accordance with the General Financial Rules 2005 Rule 194, Govt of India or as per organization norms. The organization norms for the physical verification of the Libraries must be in light of the GFR Rules 2005.


Loss of five volumes per one thousand volumes of books issued/consulted in a year may be taken as reasonable provided such losses are not attributable to dishonesty or negligence (GFR 2005; Rule 194 (ii).
