Legal Education: an orientation with RMLNLU students/users
In the horizon of the information explosion and information evaluation age, information literacy programs are playing a vital role in making the optimum use of information and resources. Libraries are one of very important pillar to achieve the goals of their parental organization. Libraries are not only facilitating resources and services to its users but they are also involved in making them life long learners. To develop any society, it is a fundamental requirement to make people aware of knowledge and information savvy. In university system, Libraries are very much engaged in such practices through various Library orientation programs to make life long learners. The Dr. Madhu Limaye Library of the RMLNLU is also adhering to practice of making its users to become information savvy along with computer and internet technology. Efforts have been made to highlight some of the features of RMLNLU Law Library Orientation Program.

Uttar Pradesh Library Association (UPLA) Election
UPLA (Uttar Pradesh Library Association)
The general election of the Uttar Pradesh Library Association (UPLA) is going to be held in May 2013. The Election Officer of UPLA has told that the President and Secretary will be elected by the votes of the life members and other officials will be elected through the nomination process.
This is a good news for the Uttar Pradesh Library Professionals for rejuvenating the cause.
Library Physical Verification (Stock Verification)
The physical verification of the Libraries may only be done in accordance with the General Financial Rules 2005 Rule 194, Govt of India or as per organization norms. The organization norms for the physical verification of the Libraries must be in light of the GFR Rules 2005.
Loss of five volumes per one thousand volumes of books issued/consulted in a year may be taken as reasonable provided such losses are not attributable to dishonesty or negligence (GFR 2005; Rule 194 (ii).

ILA Constitution says that all persons and institutions, who subscribe to the objectives of the Association and fulfill other prescribed conditions, are eligible for membership of the Association.

IASLIC Membership
IASLIC is composed of two kinds of members, namely individual and institutional. IASLIC has in its fold most of the important libraries spread all over India as institutional members, while a sizable number of people in the profession are either life or ordinary members. Persons not exceeding ten at a time of national reputation in different fields of specialization are elected as honorary members; the membership strength is more than two thousands. IASLIC offers following types of membership:
Honorary Members
IASLIC offers honorary membership to the person or institute for their distinguished contribution to the field. The decision is taken by the council.
Donor Members
IASLIC offers Donor membership to the person or organization which has which has contributed to the IASLIC Monetarily or to the collection of IASLIC library. Membership Fees: Rs5000.00.
Institutional Members
IASLIC provides membership to the organization. This membership is of two type:
Institutions in General, Association
All categories (Annually at a time) Rs. 1500-00
Association (Annually at a time) Rs. 300-00
Individual Members
IASLIC provides membership to the organization. This membership is of two types:
Life Membership Rs. 2000.00
Ordinary Membership (annually) Rs. 250.00
