किताबें झाँकती हैं बंद आलमारी के शीशों से / गुलज़ार साहब

किताबें झाँकती हैं बंद आलमारी के शीशों से
बड़ी हसरत से तकती हैं
महीनों अब मुलाकातें नहीं होती
जो शामें उनकी सोहबत में कटा करती थीं
अब अक्सर गुज़र जाती है कम्प्यूटर के पर्दों पर
बड़ी बेचैन रहती हैं क़िताबें
उन्हें अब नींद में चलने की आदत हो गई है
जो कदरें वो सुनाती थी कि जिनके
जो रिश्ते वो सुनाती थी वो सारे उधरे-उधरे हैं
कोई सफा पलटता हूँ तो इक सिसकी निकलती है
कई लफ्ज़ों के मानी गिर पड़े हैं
बिना पत्तों के सूखे टुंड लगते हैं वो अल्फ़ाज़
जिनपर अब कोई मानी नहीं उगते
जबां पर जो ज़ायका आता था जो सफ़ा पलटने का
अब ऊँगली क्लिक करने से बस झपकी गुजरती है
किताबों से जो ज़ाती राब्ता था, वो कट गया है
कभी सीने पर रखकर लेट जाते थे
कभी गोदी में लेते थे
कभी घुटनों को अपने रिहल की सूरत बनाकर
नीम सजदे में पढ़ा करते थे, छूते थे जबीं से
वो सारा इल्म तो मिलता रहेगा आइंदा भी
मगर वो जो किताबों में मिला करते थे सूखे फूल
और महके हुए रुक्के
किताबें मँगाने, गिरने उठाने के बहाने रिश्ते बनते थे
उनका क्या होगा
वो शायद अब नही होंगे!!

International Conference on Digital Libraries; 27–29 November 2013 (ICDL 2013)

TERI is organizing ICDL 2013 (International Conference on Digital Libraries) during 27–29 November 2013 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The conference would be inaugurated by Hon'ble VICE PRESIDENT OF INDIA. The major objectives of this mega event are:

•        To bridge the digital divide between developed and developing countries

•        To create a platform through capacity building on DigitalLibrary, Knowledge Management  and applications of Social Media


ICDL 2013 is also expecting an august gathering of over 500 participants drawn from cross disciplinary areas etc. We have receivedconfirmations from several renowned international experts forparticipating in the deliberations.  Some of the highlights of theconference would be:

Paper submission guidelines and date
ICDL invites original papers typed on MS Word. The word limit for eachpaper is 5000 words. All papers should be written in English foracceptance for presentation in the conference. Each submitted paperwill be reviewed by a panel of experts and only well-researched andwell-written papers will be accepted for presentation. It is expectedthat all accepted papers will be presented at the conference by theauthor(s).A few papers shall also be selected for the poster sessionpresentation. The conference proceedings that will be distributed tothe participants will include the selected papers (for presentation atthe conference) and abstracts (selected for presentation in the poster
session).

Papers may be submitted either in hard copy format to the ICDLsecretariat or online, using the conference website or electronicallyat <

NATIONAL SEMINAR ON DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL LIBRARIES IN IPR REGIME

NATIONAL SEMINAR ON DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL LIBRARIES IN IPR REGIME, 08-09 JUNE, 2013 ORGANIZED SUCCESSFULLY BY MADHU LIMAYE LIBRARY, DR. RAM MANOHAR LOHIYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, LUCKNOW, U.P., INDIA.

The seminar was inaugurated by the chief guest Prof. Abhishek Mishra, Hon'ble minister of state for science and technology, Govt, of Uttar Pradesh alongwith Prof. Gurdip Singh, Vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. N. Laxman Rao, emeritus professor of Library and information science, Prof. B. N. Pandey, Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Dr. Maneesh Bajpai, Librarian in-charge and organizing secretary of the seminar. The compendium of the seminar was released by the chief guest and other dignitaries of the dais.


The minister has promised and assured the audience to implement the U.P. Library Act in the state very soon.



The chief guest of the valedictory session Dr. R. C. Gaur, University Librarian, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi had ended the session with the hope that inspite of criticizing the Law, we have to work according and under the law.

A huge galaxy of audience has witnessed a successful event.

The above sub-themes are only indicative and participants may choose any other topic for research/paper presentation with in the scope of the seminar.

The Seminar shall be organized in the Seminar Hall of the University.

Methodology:
It is proposed that the 2-days seminar will be divided into 6 (six) interactive sessions/focused group discussions. Each session shall be Chaired and Moderated by aChair & Co-Chair, who shall also present the Theme Paper for that session. Well researched papers received from the participants and scrutinized/accepted by experts shall be allowed for presentation during a particular session.

About Madhu Limaye Library:
Dr. Madhu Limaye Library is the knowledge center of the university for academic and research activities and has been catering to the information needs of the intellectuals and ignited minds of the university. It houses valuable research collections of legal and social sciences materials, and provides access to numerous online services and internet resources. The library is a two floor centrally air-conditioned building. The library is facilitating its users through well equipped Digital Lab having 56 thin-clients, Video conferencing and providing access of digital library which has diverse range of online legal and social sciences database. The digital library is accessible from any corner of the campus through its WEB-OPAC. The Library has two Reading sections, separate faculty reading section and photocopy section. Library is providing access of  bibliographical database of library materials, electronic database and many other services like back years question papers through WEB- OPAC. The library is fully automated and equipped with CCTV and RFID technology.  The library has state-of-the-art facilities and is providing online CAS, SDI, Orientation services etc. to its users. The Library remains open throughout the year except National holidays.

About the University:
Dr.Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University was established by an Act of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh in 2005, U. P. Act No.28 of 2005 and came into being on 4th of January 2006 to meet up the new challenges in legal field.  The university is keeping its pace by achieving its goals; To advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of law and legal processes and their role in national development; To develop in the student and research scholar a sense of responsibility to serve society in the field of law by developing skills in regard to advocacy, Judicial and other legal services, legislation, law reforms in the existing laws and the like; To organize lectures, seminars, symposia and conferences, to promote legal knowledge and to make law and legal process efficient instrument of social development.
