U.P.L.A. Newsletter; Vol.45, No. 01(July-Sept) 2025


The U.P.L.A. Newsletter marks a significant revival of the Uttar Pradesh Library Association’s publication initiative in collaboration with the Central Body, formerly known as the ‘UPLA Newsletter’, which was discontinued due to unavoidable circumstances in 2000 after publishing its 19 volumes till 1999. It was first published by the Lucknow Branch in 1981. The newly elected team of the U.P.L.A. Lucknow Branch 2024 has undertaken the task of relaunching this publication in both digital and print formats, quarterly after a long gap of 25 years in 2025.

The discontinued years will be counted as gap years/gap volumes. The gap years and volumes will be counted from 2000 to 2024, and volumes 20 to 44. The 2025 volume will be published in continuation of the last gap year volume. 44. Therefore, the restart volume will have
nomenclature as Vol. 45, Issue O1 (July-Sept) 2025.

The newsletter is envisioned as a dynamic platform to document and disseminate the achievements, initiatives, and professional activities of libraries and LIS professionals across Uttar Pradesh, while also reflecting developments at the national and international levels. 

This effort aims to foster greater engagement within the LIS community and highlight the contributions of institutions and individuals toward the advancement of librarianship. The editorial team acknowledges the unwavering support and cooperation of the U.P.L.A. leadership and extends sincere gratitude to all stakeholders. Active participation from U.P.L.A. life members, professionals, and branches is vital for the sustained success of this initiative. Their continued support and contributions will play a crucial role in reinforcing the Association's stature and fulfilling its mission of promoting excellence in library and
information services.
